AERO PRECISION

We are often asked about starter rifles and custom builds. Our answer is to use Aero Precision as base. For AR platforms Aero makes some of the best furniture kits being the upper, lower receiver set and handguard(AR10 - M5 / AR15 - M4 receiver sets). From there we recommend a reputable barrel and bolt company.

For Bolt rifles if you want customization (chassis, barrels, triggers) we suggest getting the SOLUS action as a host and going with a reputable barrel company.(ex: Proof Research)

If you are looking for a solid complete rifle that you can have fun with, out perform your buddies and shoot comps with, the complete SOLUS rifle is highly recommended .

KESTREL

To gain the best performance down range a ballistic calculator is needed for refinement. When it comes to the inputs that a ballistic calculator needs it will need to be sourced from other locations. The kestrel is not only the best option out there but it also gains the inputs the calculator needs all internally. The 5700 Elite is what all U.S. Snipers use and all top competitive long range shooters compete with.

Low Power Variable Optics (LPVOs)

LPVO optics offer the best balance between close and intermediate engagements. Our recommendations are if the optic is 6 power or less go with a second focal plane optic and if the magnification 8 power or greater use a first focal plane.

We suggest avoiding BDC reticles. Once you have taken a class and learned how to use a ballistic calculator it will be noticeably easier to tailor the rifles trajectory on a precision level. With reticle designs if you lean towards CQB style shooting and enjoy having magnification a more simplistic reticle choice is recommended. If long range engagements are the preferred method then a more detailed tree style reticle is recommended. Below are a couple options we trust have used with success.
